General Meeting and Whale Presentation, April 2, 2026 6:30pm

We have the great fortune to have a special speaker, Holly Lohuis, who will present Whales of Hope: From Near Extinction to Climate Guardian. As a marine biologist, Holly has spent dozens of years as Jean-Michael Cousteau’s dive partner exploring the complexities of our oceans and the creatures who inhabit it. This presentation will focus on Holly’s recent work with local Whale Heritage Sites and the importance of actions we can make to help preserve our natural resources. Bring a friend to see what great offerings our club has!
Besides the BBQ, we will be accepting nominations for board positions and holding elections. We plan to have a raffle with prizes including a grand prize of whale watching for two with Island Packers.
We are ENCOURAGING EVERYONE to consider running for a board position, as the board is always looking for new blood and fresh viewpoints to help the club grow and plan fun events. I know personally, I have held many different board positions, and would love to have someone take over Communications so I can try something new with the club! And for some positions, we can consider multiple members performing that position. Positions descriptions can be found at Position Descriptions and include:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Membership
- Trips
- Social
- Communications
Being on the board is easy and gives you a chance to help make our club the greatest! So show up and volunteer to help our club move forward!
