Please join us for our General Meeting on Thursday, September 4th, 6:30pm, at the Pierpont Bay Yacht Club, 1363 Spinnaker Dr, Ventura Marina. The club will provide chicken and burgers, and you are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.  And there is a good chance we will have a raffle!

This month, Joni Holland and Larry Nye agreed to speak about the “Spam Cruise,” that occurred when the engine room of the Carnival Splendor they were on caught fire off the coast of Mexico. No-one was hurt, but they were left without air conditioning, water, cell phone or Internet service. Instead of lavish seafood buffets, they had to make do on a diet of Spam and Pop-tarts for several days until the ship was towed back to port. They have lots of slides and it should be a fun presentation!
